Rev La'Tysha Johnson - Zion Baptist Church

Reverend La’ Tysha Nyshia Johnson was born on July 13, 1977 in Sumter, SC to the late MaryAnn Bolden. She graduated from Charlotte, NC’s Harding

University High School for Science, Math & Technology in 1995 and attended

Fayetteville State University as a Chancellor Scholar.  After being employed at FSU for 6 years, she re-enrolled and Graduated Dec ’09 with a BS degree in Biology. Through her research on Coral Extractions and

its Anti-Cancer Properties she won 1st Place during the 2009 Chancellor’s Inauguration Faculty and Student Research Symposium and was awarded the opportunity to have her PhD work fully funded. She is currently a

candidate for a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University.

At an early age, La’ Tysha recognized the call of God upon her life and came to know Jesus as her personal Savior.  As a peculiar vessel in the atmosphere of the church, she served as a member and officer of the Youth Choir, Youth Department, Youth Missionary and the Mt. Peace Association.  She works diligently in the service of the Lord, finding her hands busy in Kingdom Business and

Building.  La’ Tysha possesses a zeal for God like no other, pushing to please Him whatever the cost. Her quiet disposition depicts her as a meek and humble woman striving to be an example of finer womanhood; serving and motivating God’s People to reach their spiritual potential.  Her ministry message is that of the Sanctification of the Body; ‘for too long the Body of Christ have deemphasized sanctification’– but God is returning looking for “a church without spot or wrinkle – For Holiness,

without which no man shall see the Lord.”

She is married to the Rev. Dr. Tremayne M. Johnson and has served along side him in ministry as the First Lady, formerly of Brown’s Chapel MBC -Clinton, NC; where she ministered as the Director of the Adult Choir, Chair of the Daughters of Inheritances Women’s Ministry and the Annual D.O.I. Women’s Conference and Minister of Couples and Women.  God, in His infinite wisdom, now has her serving with her husband at Zion Baptist Church in EastEnd of Newport News, Va.  There she works with the Daughters of Destiny Women’s Ministry and the Annual L.O.L – Living Out Legacies Women’s Conference.  She is the proud mother of Lil Miss Taylor Maddison-Karrington and TaKayla McKenzie-A’MaryAnn.  Rev. Johnson is a member of Mt. Pleasant MBC – Clinton, NC under the leadership of Bishop Varnie N.  & Elder Idella M. Fullwood.

Not realizing all that God has in store for this unique gift to the body of Christ, she understands that God is the source from which all things are possible. Through the Ministry of the Word, the Spirit of Encouragement and the Prophetic flow, this daughter of the hour is anointed to compel the Body to become the people that God is calling for in Kingdom Service. God has erected this vessel of power for such a time as this; to take the Kingdom of God to new levels….by Force.
